The Aviator (2004)

Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale

Directed by Martin Scorsese

In this movie, there are a lot of weird places that I'm glad I hound it. First off, this movie stars Leonardo Dicaprio and he works so freaking good, even though a lot of the roles he does, feels like it's the same role. So this movie is about the career of movie director and aviator Howard Hughes. Movie takes place from 1920s to the 1940s. So one of my favorite time periods of American history. There are a lot of actors in this film that just kind of popped up every now and then.
The movie is two hours and fifty minutes long. That is a freaking long movie. It is hard to sit through at a couple parts, it feels pretty long, but overall it's an engaging film. The film has a very, very unique colors, even from the beginning, the color of sky, where it is kind of greenish blue and grass is actually blue. Editing style in this movie actually threw me off about the first half of the movie. There were just so many strange choices and places to make.
DiCaprio's performance was actually incredible. You get to see him become this very strange person that is not who he was at the beginning of the film. He did a really solid job at that. The movie was done in 2004 but it felt like a movie was made in the 90s.
Overall, I would say that this movie is very interesting to watch. It's an interesting biopic character study of Howard Hughes.
